Testing the Director Software

Testing your software as soon as you receive the file is highly encouraged. During testing you should be reviewing the audio and display files to ensure they match your expectations. It is also important to check that the software is running properly on your ceremony display laptop. 

Testing your Director 2.0 Display

After you download the director database for you upcoming ceremony:
  1. Open the unzipped folder and double-click on Director.moddb
  2. To enter display mode, click Begin Ceremony Display from the software home screen.
  3. Click the Slideshow menu and select Testing Slideshow. This will simulate the live ceremony display signal output allowing the A/V team to calibrate their equipment.


The testing slideshow will quickly display/play the graduates/transitions with the longest character count to ensure they fit properly on the screen. A pop-up window will ask you which group of grads you would like to test with, then click select to start.

Testing your MarchingOrder Director 1.0 Display

  1. Double-click “MarchingOrder Director.exe”. To enter display mode, click Begin Ceremony Display from the software home screen.
  2. Click the Slideshow menu and select Testing Slideshow. This will simulate the live ceremony display signal output allowing the A/V team to calibrate their equipment.


The testing slideshow will display the graduates/transitions with the most characters first and will play the first 2 seconds of audio. To hear the full audio attached to the graduate/transition you can use the Slideshow feature instead of Testing Slideshow.
