Tagging Graduate Data Fields and Predefining Values

Tagging Graduate Data Fields and Predefining Values

Your team will decide which graduate data fields (GDFs) are necessary for display, sorting, recording, and printing. These are the fields that Tassel will verify through the new data management process. Your Customer Support Manager will set this up initially based on your current ceremony details, but it is a good idea to review your GDFs and make sure they are set up appropriately.

Tagging Graduate Data Fields (GDFs): Identifying which data fields are important for display, sorting, recording and printing.

  1. Navigate to the Data Fields module. You will see School-Wide fields and Ceremony-Specific fields.
  2. Select the ceremony you wish to work on and open it to see the Data Fields and the Tags.
  3. The Tag options are:
    1. Card Field
    2. Check-in Data
    3. Grouping
    4. Label
    5. Live Display Field 2
    6. Live Display Field 4
    7. Live Display FIeld 4
    8. Recording Field
    9. Sort Field 1
    10. Sort Field 2
  4. If any of these tags are incorrect or you need to make changes to what is displayed, printed, sorted, or recorded, work with your Customer Support Manager to ensure the details for your ceremony are in order.

Predefine Graduate Data Fields (GDFs): Identify the fields you need for your ceremony and set their validation rules in the Hub.

  1. Once your GDFs are tagged with their purpose (printing, display, etc.), then you will need to add predefined values for each GDF.
  2. If a GDF is tagged, but you do not have a predefined value, you will have errors when uploading graduates.
  3. The non-standardized toggle can be used within the GDF editing tool for GDFs that are important, but have values that can’t be predefined. For example, “thesis title”.
