Scanner Issues with the Director 2.0
In Begin Ceremony Display, “Connected Scanners” should display the correct number of properly programmed scanners that have been connected. If this doesn’t match, or the scanner isn’t programmed correctly, there will be an error message displayed and you should reprogram them again.
- Close the database before reprogramming your scanners
- Unplug and reconnect the scanner to restart it.
- If restarting the scanner doesn’t work, plug the QR scanner directly into the computer.
- Ensure the scanner is programmed for Serial Mode.
- You will get a warning message at the top right of the “Begin Ceremony Display” mode that will tell you if your scanners are not programmed correctly.
- If the scanner works while plugged directly into the laptop, but not when it is connected to your extension cables, then the issue may be with your CAT6 extension cables or your USB extenders.
- Check the connections and power supplies for those tools and reconnect them following the procedure outlined here. If the problem persists, switch to your backup cables or adjust the location of your ceremony display laptop accordingly.
- If your ceremony is dual line and utilizing the dual line software, ensure the scanners for stage left and stage right have been programmed correctly using the dual line scanner programming guide.
