Reviewing Name Pronunciations Recorded by Graduates
Graduates will have the opportunity to review their pre-recorded name announcement from within the registration form under the “Confirm Name Recording” section. They can approve the recording or direct the system to try again. Tassel will attempt to generate the name recording up to three times. If all three pronunciations are incorrect, the student will be prompted to record their own name instead. This recording will be sent to a professional reader to record their name based on the provided pronunciation. Recordings are used solely as references by both Tassel professional readers and your school’s own readers.
To review these recordings, from within your Hub, follow these steps:
- Create a View:
- Navigate to the Graduates module.
- From the All Ceremonies drop-down menu, select your ceremony.
- Click the All Graduates drop-down menu and choose Create View.
- Name your View (e.g., "Graduate Recordings").
- Configure the View:
- In the Available Columns section, select the data you want to display on the view. We recommend including the following:
- Graduates: Select Graduate Recording Display Name and Has a Recording?
- Form Questions: Select How do you pronounce your name?
- Filter the view for graduates with recordings:
- Scroll to the Filter Results section.
- Click Add Criteria.
- From the green drop-down menu, choose Graduates: Voice Recording.
- In the white drop-down menu, select Exists.
- Save the View: Click Save.
In the Graduates module, use the All Graduates menu to select the view you created (e.g., "Graduate Recordings"). You will now see all graduates who provided a recording during registration. Click the play button next to each recording to listen to the names as submitted by the graduates.
NOTE: If your school is reading names live at your ceremony, but you wish to use the Graduate Recording tool to allow your school name reader to hear or practice with graduates names prior to the ceremony, you will not have the “Confirm Name Recording” section on your graduate’s registration form.
