Printed Stage Cards vs. Digital Stage Pass

Printed Stage Cards vs. Digital Stage Pass

Digital Stage Pass

Stage passes, or digital stage cards, are an electronic version of the traditional stage card used to facilitate ceremony display and/or check-in graduates. Stage passes are distributed via the registration website and can be scanned from a phone or printed copy. They eliminate the time-consuming and personnel-heavy process of printed card distribution.

We recommend that you verify that each graduate has a valid pass prior to line-up. In addition to visually checking, you can use the Tassel Ticketing App or Director software to scan each graduate's pass as they arrive.
Graduates without a valid pass should be directed to the Graduate Help Desk and given a pre-printed backup label or be added to the ceremony using a blank card. See the Graduate Help Desk section for more details.

When scanning from graduate phones, consider the following factors:
  1. Cracked screens and reflective screen protectors may prevent a successful scan.
  2. Phone battery is needed – graduates should be checked as they approach the stage.
  3. To optimize scanning, graduate phone screens should be as bright as possible.

Printed Stage Cards

If you are using stage cards at your ceremony, you can distribute cards ahead of the ceremony date (at a graduate event or by mail) or distribute them on the day of your ceremony. If you distribute cards prior to your ceremony date, request a duplicate set of stage cards for graduates that do not bring their card.

All graduates that were included on your graduate list when it was processed for printing will have a stage card. Graduates with a pre-printed stage card may continue to the graduate line-up area after checking in.

Graduates without a pre-printed card should be directed to the Graduate Help Desk where they can receive a blank card and be added to the Director software.
