Current Pricing & Invoicing Structure

What is Tassel’s current pricing structure?
Tassel’s pricing follows a two-part invoice structure designed to increase clarity, reduce administrative burden, and align with your planning and budgeting cycles.
  1. Pre-Event Invoice
Issued at the start of the agreement, this invoice includes:
    1. The ceremony package cost for all seasons covered in your current contract (e.g. Spring and Fall ceremonies across a 1–3 year term)
    2. Any required equipment (QR scanners, extenders, cables)
    3. Digital Programs
    4. Chatbot
  2. Post-Event Invoice
Sent after each ceremony, this invoice covers:
    1. Variable per-graduate costs such as cards, labels, scripts, and other personalized materials.
This structure allows you to lock in predictable pricing upfront while retaining flexibility for final graduate counts and personalization after your events.

When did the pricing structure change?
Tassel’s updated pricing model went into effect in Fall 2024.

Why did Tassel change its pricing model?
The update reflects customer feedback that the previous pricing structure was overly complex. Our goals were to:
  1. Simplify package options
  2. Create predictable, upfront pricing
  3. Minimize annual procurement processes through multi-year agreements
  4. Clearly separate fixed and variable costs for better budget alignment

What else changed with the packaging?
We introduced three clear packages that bundle commonly used features together. Pricing now scales more equitably, based on both your number of ceremonies and total graduate count. Customization options have also been streamlined to support faster setup and resourcing.

Do we need to sign a new contract or Tassel Terms and Conditions?
Yes. The new contract outlines your selected package, total term length, and includes Tassel’s standard Terms of Service.

We weren’t expecting a pre-event invoice. Can we delay payment?
If your institution is restricted from paying before a certain date or fiscal year, contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss options.

What if we’re an existing customer with legacy pricing?
If you're currently under contract with legacy pricing, your existing pricing structure will be honored through the end of your agreement. Once your current contract ends, we’ll work with you to transition into the new pricing model with plenty of notice and support to ensure a smooth shift.

Do we need to sign a new contract or TSA?
Yes. Along with the updated pricing, we now provide a new contract outlining the term, package pricing, and our Terms of Service.

Multi-Year Agreements

What are the advantages of a multi-year agreement?
  1. Streamlined procurement — one contract covers 1–3 years of graduations
  2. Locked-in pricing — avoid future price increases
  3. Included upgrades — receive new features at no additional cost

Does “tailored pricing” mean I save money with a multi-year agreement?
Yes. Multi-year contracts include price locks on both ceremony packages and per-graduate costs, protecting you from future increases.

How long are your multi-year agreements?
We offer 1–3 year agreements depending on your institution’s needs.

Can Tassel provide sole source documentation?
Yes. Upon request, we can provide documentation confirming that Tassel is the sole provider capable of meeting your ceremony needs. This is often useful for procurement justifications.
