Stage Pass for Mobile Wallet FAQs

Stage Pass for Mobile Wallet FAQs

Stage passes are now available on Google and Apple Wallet! This exciting feature was released on October 30, 2024 for Apple Wallet, and on December 11, 2024 for Google Wallet. Please read our FAQ below and contact your Customer Success Manager if you have any additional questions.

How do I turn on the ability for our graduates to add their stage pass to Google or Apple Wallet?
You do not need to take any action to utilize this feature upgrade! Mobile Wallet for both platforms is now automatically turned on for all customers, so when your stage passes are sent to students, they will see the option in their email and when they open the web-based pass itself.

Can I remove this feature, so graduates are not able to add their stage pass to Google or Apple Wallet?
Yes, this feature can be turned off within the Ceremonies module of your Hub. Select the "edit" icon next to the ceremony you want to remove this feature from. Navigate to the Features tab, then select View Stage Pass Details. At the bottom of the "Stage Pass Properties" tab, there is a toggle to turn on/off the wallets feature.

If enabled, this toggle allows graduates to download their stage passes directly to digital wallets on their mobile devices. If disabled, graduates won't see any option to add their stage pass to their digital wallets.

Do I need a new scanner to scan from Mobile Wallet?
No, your existing QR code scanner will work with stage passes on Google or Apple Wallet.

When will the stage pass begin appearing on a student’s iPhone or Android home screen?
  1. Apple Users - Graduates will receive a ceremony notification on their phone starting 2 hours before the ceremony.
  2. Android Users - Graduates will receive a ceremony notification on their phone starting 24 hours before the ceremony.

How does a graduate view additional information that does not fit on the main stage pass within Google or Apple Wallet?
A graduate should open their pass within Google or Apple Wallet and click on the three dots on the top right corner. This will take them to the additional information section. They will have access to the full web-based stage pass via a link from this section.

Are stage passes accessible from smartwatches?
Yes, stage passes that are added to Apple or Google Wallets are accessible from compatible smartwatches.
