Export and Sync Databases in Director
Important: Update the Display Laptop Before Showtime
Once all changes are made, the information from the Help Desk laptop needs to be synced to the Ceremony Display Laptop.
Export the Database
- Insert a USB thumb drive to the Help Desk laptop.
- From the top of the home screen menu, click the Import/Export dropdown, then select Export Changes.
- Click Export Database.
- You will be prompted to select a folder, feel free to save it into the same folder as Director, or choose another. Select Save File.
The database copy will be called "databaseUpdates_[unique identifier].asar". This allows for a timestamp of the exported file and keeps track of your modifications to participants.
Sync the database
Take the USB thumb drive to the ceremony laptop and insert it.
- Click Import/Export and then Sync Database from the menu at the top of the window.
- Click Select File to browse to the USB thumb drive and select the file you just saved.
- Click Sync Database and a confirmation message will appear, letting you know your sync was successful.
Once the merge is complete, remove the USB thumb drive from the ceremony laptop and return to the Home screen to select Begin Ceremony Display. Your ceremony is now ready to begin!
